• Large Color Charts list as many as 500 color names. But the WebTV browser will not recognize most of them, only supporting the 150 color names listed above. The rest of the names on the large lists must be coded using hex or rgb numbers.

• The 150 supported color names can be coded using the color names. They must be written as one word, without breaks, e.g., <bgcolor=mediumvioletred>.

• The names are not case sensitive. For example either mediumvioletred or MediumVioletRed can be used.

• Any color with "gray" in the name will also work spelled "grey".

• Although the browser supported color names are limited to 150, thousands of colors can be coded using hex or rgb numbers. The supported names can also be coded using hex or rgb numbers.
